Sqord gave me the opportunity to work at the intersection of product, experience, and a very human challenge: how to make being active more engaging.
Design for the behavior
As co-founder and a leader of product and UX, I worked across the experience rather than treating the interface as an isolated deliverable. The question was how the product could encourage participation, not just display information.
Make the experience tangible
Avatars, interaction patterns, and visual feedback were ways to give the experience personality and make progress feel meaningful.
Usability testing and iteration helped us see where the product made sense to people—and where our assumptions needed a second look.
The startup lesson
A young company has to make choices with incomplete information. The useful skill is not pretending you have certainty. It is identifying the assumptions that matter, learning quickly, and keeping the team moving.
